Meet the Leadership

Meet EMSAC's Leadership

March 2024

Christopher Howes
Partner, Howes Wolf

Chris Howes has lobbied EMS issues at the Colorado State Capitol for EMSAC for 15 years.  Mr. Howes is one of the most respected lobbyists at the Capitol. He has helped EMSAC establish exceptional relationships with our state senators and representatives on both sides of the aisle; to the point that legislators ask EMSAC, "what bill can I carry for you?"

He founded The Howes Group in 2001 after years of successful government affairs work at both the state and municipal levels. For the last 23 years he’s been a top-tier contract lobbyist for dozens of associations and corporations, and on the front line for some of the big legislative battles at the Colorado state capitol. From the “beer wars” to internet sales taxation, Mr. Howes has successfully navigated the toughest issues in Colorado for his clients. He possesses an institutional knowledge that informs successful strategy and a well-honed ability to leverage his relationships with legislators to the benefit of his clients.

Mr. Howes earned his bachelor’s from St. Lawrence University in upstate New York and his master’s degree from Tufts University in Massachusetts. In 1997, he left the East Coast for the mountains of Colorado and began his fruitful career in Colorado politics. Outside of the state capitol, Mr. Howes loves watching all-things-sports, enjoys trying out his self-proclaimed “master chef” skills on gracious dinner party guests, but loves nothing better than golfing in the Colorado sunshine.
